DAY 1
Arrival. After your scheduled flight, you'll be met at the airport and transferred at your chosen hotel for your two night stay. Then, time to relax or explore before a Welcome Drink tonight with your Insight Representative. (D)
DAY 2
Athens Sightseeing. All the glories of Athens are on display for us this morning; the Acropolis, that mighty rock formation standing 230 feet above the city, visit the Parthenon, built to house the long-vanished statue of Athena Parthenos, the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of the Wingless Victory, Hadrian's Arch… a long and magnificent list. This evening perhaps enjoy a local dinner and a Sound and a Light Show over the Acr
DAY 3
Athens-Kalambaka. We stop at Thermopylae to see the memorial to Leonidas and his brave Spartans, en route to the monasteries of Meteora. We visit one of the monasteries and its museum, and then it's not far to the Amalia Hotel in Kalambaka. (BB,D)
DAY 4
Kalambaka-Delphi. We cross fertile Thessaly, to Mount Parnassus, where Delphi clings at a height of 2,000 feet. Saving the Oracle for tomorrow, we visit the museum where we admire a 2,400 year old bronze charioteer and many other treasures. Tonight we stay in the Amalia Hotel Delphi, located close to the town centre. (BB,D)
DAY 5
Delphi-Olympia. We ascend Delphi's Sacred Way to the Treasury of the Athenians, splendid in Parian marble, and the Temple of Apollo. We cross the Gulf of Corinth into the Peloponnese for Olympia, home of the original Olympic Games. This afternoon we see the statue of Hermes in the museum before heading to our overnight hotel, the Amalia, Olympia. (BB,D)
DAY 6
Olympia-Athens. This morning in Olympia, we see the Olympic Stadium where the games were first held in 776BC, the gymnasium and the city's ancient temples. Then we drive through the Arcadia mountains to Mycenae. We walk through the Gate of the Lions and visit the Beehive Tombs, seeing the Corinth Canal on our way back to Athens and the Royal Olympic Hotel. (BB)
DAY 7
Athens-Full Day Island Cruise. Today we enjoy a cruise in the Saronic Gulf, visiting the islands of Aegina, Poros and Hydra. We enjoy a Highlight Buffet Lunch.(BB,L)
DAY 8
Departure. Our tour ends after breakfast with a transfer to the airport for your return flight. (BB)
