DAY 1
Frankfurt - Ruedesheim - Rhine Cruise - Heidelberg - Wiesloch (T). On arrival meet assist transfer to the hotel of your choice. Depart from Frankfurt in the morning and drive to Ruedesheim, famous for its vineyards. Take a Rhine cruise, passing romantic castles. Motor coach to Heidelberg where we visit the inner courtyard of the impressive castle before continuing on a walking tour of the beautiful old university town. Overnight in Wiesloch at Hotel Palatin.
DAY 2
Wiesloch - Baden-Baden - Lake Constance (B). After breakfast depart for the Black Forest and Baden-Baden. Enjoy a tour through the casino and some sightseeing of one of the most beautiful spa resorts in Europe before traveling deeper into the Black Forest, a region known for the cuckoo clocks. Arrive at Lake Constance in the afternoon and enjoy a walking tour of the picturesque Lindau. Overnight at Hotel Helvetia/Stift.
DAY 3
Lake Constance-Hohenschwangau / Neuschwanstein Castle- Garmisch -Partenkirchen (B). Today we move into the Allgau, viewing the fantastic Bavarian Alps. In Hohenschwangau we visit the fairy tale castle of King Ludwig II, the Neuschwanstein Castle. Stop at another architectural treasure, the glorious rococo church Wies. In the late afternoon we arrive in the Olympic town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, with overnight at Hotel Obermühle.
DAY 4
Garmisch-Partenkirchen-Linderhof Castle - Oberammergau - Ettal - Munich (B). Less known but even more beautiful than Neuschwanstein is Linderhof Castle, which we visit in the morning. Continue to Oberammergau, home of the famous passion play which takes place every 10 years with the next event in the year 2000. Stop at the Benedictine Monastery of Ettal. On to Munich, with optional „Bavarian Evening" incl. dinner and entertainment. Overnight at Intercity-Hotel/Hotel Crystal.
DAY 5
Munich (B). Enjoy an extensive tour of Munich, showing you all the main sights of the splendid Bavarian capital incl. Nymphenburg Palace. Afternoon at leisure.
DAY 6
Munich (B). First group is leaving this morning and you have the chance to enjoy a full day in Munich for your own activities, exploring the city, visiting some of its famous museums or shopping.
DAY 7
Munich Lake Herrenchiemsee - Salzburg/Austria (B). Meet your second group and your tour guide at 1p.m. in the lobby of your hotel. Afterwards we drive to the Lake Herrenchiemsee and visit the Herrenchiemsee Palace situated on an island. It was modelled on the famous Palace of Versailles Palace by the fairy-tale king Ludwig II. Continue to Salzburg in Austria, the home of Mozart. Overnight at Hotel Hofwirt or similar.
DAY 8
Salzburg (B). Walking tour through the old town in the morning. Rest of the day free for own activities, but we provide several options. Either you join our optional excursion to Lake Koenigssee incl. a visit to Eagle's Nest/Obersalzberg or enjoy a day at leisure in beautiful Salzburg. In the evening you have the opportunity to experience a „Sound of Music" show dinner (optional).
DAY 9
Salzburg - Altoetting - Fortress Burghausen - Passau/Danube Cruise (B). After breakfast we leave Austria and head for the Bavarian Forest. Stop at Altoetting, a world-famous place with its Black Madonna and various chapels and churches. Afterwards continue to Burghausen. Its huge, more than half a mile long fortress offers a great view on a picturesque market place and the valley of the river Salzach - the natural border between Germany and Austria. In the afternoon arrive in Passau, were the two rivers Inn and Ilz meet the Danube. Enjoy a city tour of the beautiful old town including the cathedral with the largest organ in the world and a cruise on the 3 rivers. Overnight at Hotel Am Fernsehturm.
DAY 10
Passau - Bavarian Forest - Regensburg (B). First drive to Tittling and visit the most interesting open-air museum, where old farm houses, a school and a mill were brought together to let history become alive. Continue through the Bavarian Forest and stop at a glassblower's manufactory. See how the stunning glasses are produced before having the chance to marvel at a collection of craftsmanship. Through the scenic landscape get to the Valhalla and enjoy the beautiful view on the Blue Danube before arriving in Regensburg. Overnight at Hotel Atrium.
DAY 11
Regensburg - Nuremberg - Rothenburg (B/D). In the morning enjoy a walkingtour of this pretty town. Move on to the historic city of Nuremberg, with its unique medieval city center. Guided city walk to the most interesting points. Stop at the Reichsparteitagsgelände before continuing along the Castle Road to the Romantic Road. Arrive in Rothenburg in the afternoon. After a walking tour of the medieval town and free afternoon for exploring or shopping on your own. In the evening enjoy a 3-course farewell dinner at your hotel. Overnight at the typical boarding house Zum Rappen.
DAY 12
Rothenburg- Wuerzburg-Frankfurt (B). In the morning we leave for Wuerzburg. Enjoy a tour of the magnificent Residence, a masterpiece of German baroque architecture. Arrival in Frankfurt in the afternoon around 3 p.m. Drop-off at departure points.
